Peadar O Riada
Peadar Ó Riada lives in the Irish speaking community of Cúil Aodha in the Muskerry Gaeltacht region of Cork, Ireland. Peadar has published in various genres related to the Irish idiom including; choral, traditional, piano, but just to name a few. He has also published several books and articles on various subjects including the children’s book Scéalta Shéamuis.
In 2000 Peadar set up the Acadamh Fodhla, a local hedge school university that holds weekly sessions on history, energy, land knowledge and sean-nós. Choir leader of Cór Chúl Aodha since his father Seán Ó Riada’s death in 1971 and leader of Cór Ban Chúil Aodha the all women's choir that he founded in 1988. Founder of Ceolteoirí Mhuscraí and Ealintoirí Mhuscraí, board member of Chomhairle Bhéaloideas Éireann, founding member of Ionad Culturtha Bhaile Mhuirne, a founding member of Iontaibheas Fodhla, founder of Feile na Laoch, member of Ceolteoirí Chulann (founded by his father), broadcaster of a weekly radio program on Radio na Gaeltachta that is listened to world wide, founder of the group Triúr with Martin Hayes and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and prize winning film maker.
