Peadar Ó Riada lives in the Irish speaking community of Cúil Aodha in the Muskerry Gaeltacht region of Cork, Ireland. Peadar has published in various genres related to the Irish idiom including; choral, traditional, piano, but just to name a few. He has also published several books and articles on various subjects including the children’s book Scéalta Shéamuis.

In 2000 Peadar set up the Acadamh Fodhla, a local hedge school university that holds weekly sessions on history, energy, land knowledge and sean-nós. Choir leader of Cúil Aodha since his father Seán Ó Riada’s death in 1971 and leader of Cór Ban Cúil Aodha the all women’s choir that he founded in 1988. Founder of Ceoltóirí Chualan­ and Ealintoir­ Mhuscra­, board member of Chomhairle Bhaloideas Éireann, founding member of Ionad Culturtha Bhaile Mhuirne, a founding member of Iontaibheas Fodhla, founder of Feile na Laoch, member of Ceoltóirí Chualan (founded by his father), broadcaster of a weekly radio program on Radio na Gaeltachta that is listened to world wide, founder of the group Triúr with Martin Hayes and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and prize winning film maker.
